Pioneer Airline, the Bayelsa State Government-owned carrier, has been issued its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), officially clearing it to begin commercial flight operations.
The airline’s management team, led by Managing Director Capt. Ungbuku, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, yesterday to present the certificate to him.
While receiving the delegation, Keyamo credited the development to the sound aviation policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
“The rise in State-owned airlines is as a result of excellent aviation policies put in place by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the minister said.
Keyamo added that Nigerians should expect more state-owned airlines in the coming months, noting that increased competition would give air travellers more options and better services.
