The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has adopted Governor Umo Eno as its sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
The party also adopted consensus candidates for other positions: Nelson Ntia for the State House of Assembly, Senator Ekong Sampson for the Senate, and Dr. Eunice Thomas for the House of Representatives.
The resolutions were reached at an enlarged stakeholders’ and party members’ meeting held on Wednesday at the residence of the political leader of the party in Onna, Dr. Pat Ifon.
Announcing the decisions, Onna APC Chairman Tom Nkanang urged members to remain united and work collectively for victory in the upcoming elections. He appealed to aggrieved members to sheath their swords.

He stressed the need for unity and immediate preparations for the primaries and general elections.
Ifon formally declared President Bola Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senator Ekong Sampson, Dr. Eunice Thomas, and Elder Nelson Ntia as consensus candidates for their respective positions.
Other stakeholders, including Commissioner for Finance Emem Bob, Dr. Owoideghe Ekpottai, and Dr. Nse Essien, endorsed the consensus arrangement and called for reconciliation of aggrieved members to ensure the party’s success.
