The Executive Chairman of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Hussaini Aliyu, has strongly refuted claims by United States Congressman Riley Moore that the 25 schoolgirls abducted from Federal Government College, Maga, on November 7, 2025, were taken from a “Christian enclave.
”Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the chairman described the American lawmaker’s statement as “completely false, misleading and dangerous,” stressing that all the abducted girls are Muslims and that the Maga community has no history of religious division.
“There is no Christian enclave in Maga or anywhere in Zuru Emirate. We have lived in peace for centuries without any religious crisis. Such careless statements from foreign politicians can incite unnecessary tension at a time when all efforts are focused on rescuing our daughters,” Alhaji Hussaini said.
He urged Congressman Moore and other foreign commentators to verify facts before making public statements that could undermine Nigeria’s unity and complicate ongoing rescue operations.
To further lay the matter to rest, the local government chairman released the official names of the 25 abducted schoolgirls:

Yes, all abductees are Muslims because the school is in the North. But, when these Fulanis come to the south, they don’t adopt people but they kill them both boys and girls. And among those who were adopted in the North, if there’s any student from the south among them, the terrorists would have killed the him/her because he/she is automatically a Christian or they would ask him /her to change religion like they did to Leila when the Chibouk girls were kidnapped.
