The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
Baba Ngelzarma, national president of MACBAN, announced the
endorsement on Saturday at a rally organised by the Fulbe APC Forum and Tinubu
Yeso-Yeso Political Forum (TYPF) in Kaduna.
Ngelzarma said the establishment of the ministry of
livestock development by the Tinubu administration had given pastoralists and
livestock farmers hope after decades of neglect.
“We are here today to extend our appreciation and support to
the administration of President Tinubu,” he said.
“The creation of the livestock ministry is something we have
been advocating for and looking forward to for decades.
“To reciprocate the gesture, we are pledging our support for
President Bola Tinubu in 2027.”
Ngelzarma said livestock farmers and pastoralists had
campaigned for decades for a dedicated ministry before the Tinubu
administration established it in July 2024.
He added that the initiative had encouraged some state
governments to establish similar institutions to coordinate livestock
development.
The event attracted Fulani groups, pastoralists, cattle
breeders, livestock dealers, butchers, processors and political stakeholders
from across the country.
