Umahi Urges Nigerians to Back Tinubu for Second Term to Complete Road Projects

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has appealed to Nigerians to grant President Bola Tinubu another four years in office to enable him complete ongoing road construction projects across the country.

Speaking on Tuesday at the groundbreaking ceremony for the ₦1.5 trillion reconstruction and dualisation of the 401-kilometre Lambata–Kontagora Highway in Niger State, Umahi described the project as part of Tinubu’s ambitious infrastructure programme.

He noted that the highway, being executed under the Federal Government’s infrastructure tax-credit scheme with the involvement of the Dangote Group, is the fifth legacy road project of the administration.

The project will feature reinforced concrete pavement and multiple construction points to speed up delivery.

“President Bola Tinubu needs another four years to complete the numerous road construction projects which he started in this tenure,” Umahi said, adding that the administration has already delivered 162 kilometres of roads and 115 metres of bridges in the North-Central region.

Umahi also commended Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for his investments in infrastructure, including more than 300 kilometres of roads, five flyovers, and an underpass.

Dangote Group’s Special Adviser to the President, Mansir Ahmed, highlighted the economic importance of the highway, stressing that it would ease the movement of agricultural produce, industrial materials, and commercial goods while creating opportunities for businesses and young people.

Governor Bago, who represented President Tinubu at the event, pledged to mobilise strong electoral support for the President in the next election, citing the Federal Government’s commitment to Niger’s infrastructure development.
