The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Monday displayed two petitions challenging Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in the August 15, 2026 poll.
The petitions, filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were pasted on the notice board of the tribunal secretariat in Osogbo.
The action formally kicks off the legal process over the election outcome.Tribunal Secretary Pefe Belemore confirmed that the petitions had been filed and said the notices would be displayed before noon on Monday.
Belemore and other secretariat officials were present in the courtroom earlier in the day as preparations for proceedings continued.
The display paves the way for the service of court processes on the parties and the start of formal hearings.
The APC petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was filed by its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji (also referred to as Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji).
It lists Adeleke, the Accord Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as respondents.
The PDP petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was filed by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola against Adeleke, INEC, and the Accord Party.
Adeleke, who ran on the Accord Party platform, was declared winner of the election by INEC.
