The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the creation of a 13-member executive structure in every polling unit across Nigeria as part of its grassroots strategy for the 2027 general elections.
Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central, revealed this during an interview with ARISE NEWS, stressing that the initiative is designed to strengthen the party’s presence and guarantee representation at the polling booths.
“NDC has a structure where every polling unit has 13 people dedicated to duty. On election day, these polling booth executives will ensure the party is represented. With 13 people, producing one agent per unit is never a challenge,” Umeh explained.
He added that beyond the constitutional structure, he is personally building an additional 20-man coordinator team in each polling unit to reinforce the party’s readiness.
According to Umeh, the NDC has successfully fielded candidates for all positions in the 2027 elections, ensuring that the party remains visible and active across constituencies.
“When you have candidates, they mobilise agents. Without candidates, a party is absent in those places,” he noted.
The senator emphasized that the party is preparing early to secure polling-unit results on election day, citing the importance of agents in obtaining signed copies of result sheets from presiding officers.
He concluded by assuring that no polling unit in Nigeria would be left without NDC representation during the elections.
