Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Gantry Price to ₦1,350

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another increase in the gantry price of premium motor spirit (petrol), moving from ₦1,265 to ₦1,350 per litre, effective Saturday, September 12, 2026.

This marks the refinery’s fourth upward adjustment in just 22 days, following successive hikes from ₦1,165 on August 21 to ₦1,185, then ₦1,200, and later ₦1,265 per litre.

The cumulative increase amounts to ₦185 per litre, representing a 15.9% rise within the period.

In a circular issued by the refinery’s Group Commercial Operations, customers were informed of the revised prices:Coastal delivery (MT): ₦1,783,530 (up from ₦1,669,545)Gantry price (LTR): ₦1,350 (up from ₦1,265)Customers were directed to return existing Authority to Collect (ATC) documents for repricing, after which new contracts would be issued for immediate resumption of loading.

The refinery attributed the adjustment to rising global crude oil prices, with Brent crude recently climbing above $104 per barrel amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.

Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, including tanker attacks and restricted shipping, have intensified supply concerns, pushing refined product costs higher worldwide.Industry observers note that the Dangote refinery’s pricing moves reflect the broader volatility in international oil markets, which continue to exert pressure on domestic fuel costs.

Officials of the refinery have yet to provide further details on the latest hike.
