‘Horse-trading over presidency they don’t have’ — Felix Morka tackles Kwankwaso for saying he’ll take care of Atiku

Felix Morka, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson, has criticised Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the running mate to Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), over his remark about the 2023 elections.

On Monday, Kwankwaso asked Atiku to drop his presidential ambition and support him and Obi in the 2027 elections.

Kwankwaso asked Atiku to step aside from the presidential race due to his age and health, adding that they will take care of the former vice-president if the NDC wins the election.

Reacting in an X post on Saturday, Morka said the opposition was negotiating the presidency they had yet to win.

“At last, the veil comes off … behold the whited sepulchre … they pretend to be saints on the outside but filled with stench of corruption and malignant hypocrisy on the inside,” he wrote.

Morka said Nigerian voters would determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election, adding that the opposition would not emerge victorious.

“Horse trading with the presidency they do not have, and will not have, by the sovereign will of the Nigerian electorate, come 2027,” Morka said.

Atiku, who will turn 81 next year, has said the 2027 election will be his final attempt at the presidency.

He had contested the presidential election on three occasions — in 2007, 2019 and 2023 respectively.
