Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Aminu Atiku as the 21st Emir of Zurmi.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, announced the decision on Monday, noting that it followed consultations and recommendations from the Zurmi Emirate Council’s kingmakers in line with tradition and state laws.
Aminu Atiku, the Dangaladiman Zurmi and eldest son of the late Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (the 19th Emir of Zurmi), succeeds Alhaji Bello Suleiman, who passed away on August 31, 2026.
Governor Lawal congratulated the new Emir, urging him to build on the achievements of his predecessors, foster unity, promote peace and justice, and prioritize the welfare of residents across the emirate.
