The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally presented the Certificate of Return to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, confirming his re-election victory in the August 15 governorship poll.
The presentation, held on Wednesday, validates Adeleke’s mandate for a second term after he was declared winner on Sunday, securing 19 out of 30 local government areas.
Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, defeated APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who won in 11 LGAs.
In a video shared by his aide Olalekan Badmus, Adeleke was seen singing and dancing as he received the certificate, a gesture reflecting his trademark celebratory style.
Following his victory, Adeleke assured Osun residents that he would consolidate achievements from his first term while correcting past mistakes.
He emphasized his commitment to delivering inclusive governance and strengthening development across the state.
The certificate presentation marks the official conclusion of the electoral process, underscoring INEC’s role in affirming the will of voters in Osun.
