Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday received Vice President Kashim Shettima in Port Harcourt ahead of the grand finale of the 163rd Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).
Shettima, who is representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, will join military officers and dignitaries as the celebration concludes today, July 6, 2026.
The annual commemoration honours the establishment of the Nigerian Army and pays tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and professionalism of officers and soldiers in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and supporting internal security operations.
Activities lined up for the event include military parades, exhibitions, awards, and displays of operational achievements, highlighting the Army’s role in national development and peacekeeping.
