The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the formation of a reconciliation committee to address grievances within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare, the APC explained that the committee was established to pacify aggrieved members dissatisfied with the outcomes of recent primaries across the state.
Sadare noted that the committee is composed of party elders, chieftains, and leaders, including Senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Brimo Yusuf, and Hosea Agboola; Chief Akin Oke; former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Professor Afolabi Oladapo; Engineer Idris Adeoye; Pa Timothy Jolaoso; Chief Olukemi Alao-Akala; Dr. Adebayo Adewusi; Hon. Gunju Ojo; Dr. Adekemi Opatunde, among others.
The committee’s mandate is to foster peace and unity within the party by engaging stakeholders, particularly aspirants who purchased nomination forms but failed to secure tickets.
Sadare emphasized that the reconciliation effort is crucial for strengthening the APC ahead of the polls:“The Reconciliation Committee, upon its inauguration later this week, would meet with all relevant stakeholders, including aspirants dissatisfied with the primaries. It is hoped this effort will bring about the desired peace and unity for our great party to win big at the polls next year.”
The committee is expected to be inaugurated by the state chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, in the coming week.
