Adeleke, Oyebamiji Trade Accusations Over Alleged PVC Buying in Osun

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, have exchanged fresh allegations over attempts to induce voters to surrender their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, accused APC members of running a coordinated operation to collect PVCs and Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), particularly in Accord Party strongholds.

He alleged that voters were being offered money and even compelled to swear oaths before handing over their details, warning that such actions could undermine the credibility of the polls.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate, stressing that insider collusion and manipulation of voter registration details posed a serious threat to the electoral process.

Responding at a campaign rally in Osogbo, Oyebamiji also cautioned residents against selling their PVCs, claiming that unnamed individuals were indirectly buying cards by collecting account details and transferring money to young voters.

He urged citizens to safeguard their voting rights and resist inducements.Oyebamiji promised an inclusive administration if elected, assuring traders and residents that his government would consult communities on their needs rather than abandon them after victory.

The Osun governorship election will feature Adeleke of the Accord Party, Oyebamiji of the APC, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and 11 other candidates cleared by INEC.
