Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has forwarded the names of 23 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The transmission of the list marks a significant step towards reconstituting the State Executive Council. It is expected to strengthen governance and service delivery across various sectors in the state.
Details of the nominees, including their portfolios (if assigned) and local government areas of origin, are yet to be publicly released by the Assembly.
The Clerk of the House is anticipated to formally present the list to the Speaker and members for further legislative action, in line with constitutional requirements.
This move comes as the governor continues efforts to build a robust team capable of driving his administration’s development agenda, focusing on areas such as infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
The Gombe State House of Assembly is expected to commence screening of the nominees soon, following established procedures for thorough due diligence and public hearings where necessary.
Further updates will be provided as the Assembly processes the list.
