Oshiomhole Makes U-Turn on Forgery Claim in Natasha’s Suspension

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has denied alleging that signatures of senators were forged in the report that led to the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the lawmaker representing Edo North Senatorial District clarified that his comments during a recent interview on AIT were misrepresented. He firmly denied ever claiming that signatures of senators were forged.

Oshiomhole explained that he only raised the issue that a senator who served on the committee claimed that attendance signatures of some lawmakers were attached to the final report.

“The insinuation that I said signatures of Senators were forged is a complete misrepresentation of what I actually said,” he stated.

“The only comment I made is that one Senator, who is a member of the Committee, claimed that the signatures of attendance of some Senators were attached to the final report.”

The clarification comes days after Oshiomhole’s initial comments sparked controversy, prompting the Senate to deny the forgery allegation and announce it would look into the matter.

This development marks a significant shift in the ongoing political drama surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension from the Senate.
