Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that the exit of former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) was expected and does not constitute any threat to the ruling party in the state.
In an interview with Arise TV, Governor Oborevwori stated that he had already defeated Omo-Agege in the past and expressed no surprise at his departure from the APC.
“We knew Ovie Omo-Agege’s exit from the APC was coming. His people had already left the party three months before him,” Oborevwori said.
The governor noted that Omo-Agege’s lack of seriousness during the primaries was evident, as he never consulted him or other APC leaders before the exercise.
“He lost a free and fair primary to a very capable candidate, Dafinone,” Oborevwori added.
The comments come amid reactions to Omo-Agege’s recent defection from the APC.
