Former Zamfara State Governor and serving Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, has said the North-West region must support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 to repay the South-West for backing former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Yari made the remark while speaking on the political debt of gratitude the North owes the South-West zone.
He argued that the South-West stood firmly with Buhari, a northerner, across his two terms, and it is now only fair for the North, particularly the North-West, to reciprocate by massively supporting Tinubu in the next presidential election.
The statement is seen as a strong indication of early political realignments and zonal calculations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
