The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared the winners of its House of Representatives primary elections across Rivers State’s 12 federal constituencies.
Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, emerged victorious as the candidate for Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency 1 after polling 17,968 votes as the sole aspirant.
The results were announced on Saturday night at the APC State Secretariat in Port Harcourt by the Chairman of the State APC House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Wahab Owokoniran.
Other notable winners include:
Igwe Precious – Port Harcourt Federal Constituency (5,885 votes)
Felix Nweke – Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituency (18,605 votes)
Dumnamene Dekor – Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency (17,073 votes)
Cyril Hart – Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency (7,203 votes)
Several other candidates also secured the party’s tickets across the remaining constituencies.
The declaration was witnessed by the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Dr Johnson Sinikiem, and other INEC officials. The primaries were held ahead of the 2027 general elections.
