The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Senator Kabiru Turaki has described Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as delusional for threatening to take action against banks over the faction’s accounts.
The Turaki-led group said Wike is fully aware that they are legitimately operating the party’s accounts, including those used for the sale of nomination forms.
In a statement responding to Wike’s comments during his monthly media chat on Wednesday, the faction dismissed the minister’s threats and challenged his claims about the party’s leadership.
Wike had challenged the Turaki-led PDP to prove its authenticity by operating transparently and warned banks against dealing with what he described as an illegal group.
The Turaki faction maintained that it is the authentic leadership of the PDP and accused Wike of being aware of this reality while choosing to act otherwise.
The ongoing leadership crisis in the PDP has deepened ahead of the 2027 general elections, with different factions laying claim to the party’s control and structures.
