The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has suspended its Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Bashir Dalhatu, over alleged financial misconduct and breaches of the organisation’s constitution.
The decision was taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ACF at an emergency meeting held in Kaduna on Wednesday.
Delegates from the 18 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) attended the meeting where the suspension was announced.
The ACF has not yet released further details on the specific allegations against Dalhatu, but sources say the suspension followed complaints and findings presented to the NEC.
This development represents a major leadership shake-up in the prominent northern socio-political organisation.
