In another major political twist, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has been selected to succeed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
This followed a closed-door extraordinary meeting of about 20 progressive governors in Abuja, which included governors from Ogun, Bayelsa, Enugu, and 17 others.
The decision was taken moments after the meeting, according to reports circulating online. Governor Mbah’s emergence as the new PGF Chairman marks a significant leadership change within the forum of governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development comes amid heightened political activities as the ruling party prepares for future elections.
Further details on the full outcome of the meeting and reactions from other stakeholders are still emerging.
