Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to mobilise massively and deliver strong support for President Bola Tinubu in the party’s presidential primary.
Oborevwori, who serves as the Coordinator of the Presidential Primary Election in Delta State, made the appeal on Friday during a visit to the founding leader of the APC in Delta, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, at his country home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The governor expressed confidence in the APC’s organisational strength in the state, noting that the party boasts over 470,000 members and is capable of producing overwhelming votes for President Tinubu.
“We know our strength as a party in Delta State. We have over 470,000 members and we expect massive turnout. We are determined to deliver strong numbers because this exercise is important for the unity and future of our party,” he said.
Oborevwori disclosed that the state APC is targeting at least 390,000 affirmation votes for President Tinubu, stressing that grassroots mobilisation remains robust across the state.
He drew a parallel with his own emergence as the party’s governorship candidate, where he received over 345,000 votes, and urged members to do even more for the President as the leader of the party.
The governor also emphasised the need for discipline, unity, and respect for party leadership, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances of success.
“A political party without discipline, without respect for leadership and without regard for authority cannot move forward,” he stated.
In response, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor commended Governor Oborevwori for his purposeful leadership and commitment to strengthening the APC in Delta State.
He assured the governor of the party’s readiness to deliver strong support for President Tinubu in the primary election.
