Former Anambra State Governor and leading opposition figure Peter Obi has successfully completed the presidential screening exercise organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and received his nomination form for the upcoming presidential election.
In a statement released after the event, Obi revealed that the screening took place on Monday, May 19, 2026, in Abuja and lasted over two and a half hours.
Party officials meticulously reviewed his credentials, including his degree certificates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate, and age declarations.
During the interactive session, Obi also responded to questions about his vision for a “New Nigeria” and the type of leadership the country urgently needs at this time.“I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for,” Obi stated.
The presidential aspirant commended the screening committee, led by former governor Sam Egwu, for their thorough and professional conduct. He also appreciated the NDC leadership for upholding the democratic process.
