Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has adopted consensus mode for selecting candidates for all elective positions in Nasarawa State, including the governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly seats.
The NDC State Chairman, Dogo Shammah, announced this decision on Saturday during the party’s One-day North Central Zonal Congress held in Lafia.
He explained that the consensus arrangement aims to prevent internal rifts and ensure unity, thereby strengthening the party’s chances of victory in the upcoming polls.
Shammah assured that the party will field credible candidates through a process that prioritises harmony and avoids unnecessary friction.
He urged residents of Nasarawa State and the entire North Central zone to join the NDC, describing it as a platform committed to justice, equity, progress, and good governance.
