The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun the screening exercise for aspirants vying for the party’s nomination to contest seats in the Kano State House of Assembly ahead of the forthcoming primaries.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday, May 11, 2026, by Yusuf Yahuza of the Office of the APC State Organising Secretary, which was shared on his Facebook page.
According to the statement, the screening process, which started today, underscores the party’s dedication to transparency, fairness, and internal democracy in selecting credible and competent candidates for various constituencies across the state.
The APC reiterated its commitment to producing people-focused leaders who will contribute meaningfully to legislative development and democratic governance in Kano State.
The party also called on all aspirants and their supporters to maintain peace, unity, and sportsmanship throughout the primary election process.
The screening is a key step in the APC’s preparation for the 2027 general elections in Kano State.
