Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has raised the alarm over what he described as orchestrated attempts to disrupt free and fair direct primaries involving him.
In a statement signed by Professor Suleiman Mohammed on behalf of the Pantami Movement, the former Communications Minister expressed concerns about possible political pressure and sponsored actions aimed at sabotaging the process.
“We anticipate sponsored petitions and press conferences from those who fear free, fair, and credible direct primaries involving Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami,” the statement read.
Pantami further claimed that some individuals hired and offered financial inducements to carry out certain disruptive activities rejected the money and exposed the alleged plot.
He referenced his recent appearance on Television Continental (TVC), noting that the interview adequately addressed relevant issues.
The statement urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and prayerful amid any developments.
Pantami is a leading aspirant for the Gombe State governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
