The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has opened a window for aggrieved aspirants to file petitions over the just-concluded House of Representatives primary elections held on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
In a statement on Sunday, the Chairman and Secretary of the APC National Assembly Primary Appeal Committee for Imo State, Tuoyo Omatstuli and Hon. Godwin Anaughe, announced that petitions will be received on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the APC State Secretariat in Owerri.
Aspirants with complaints have been directed to submit their petitions between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the secretariat located at 47 Okigwe Road, Owerri.
The committee urged all interested parties to adhere strictly to the timeframe and appear before it as required.
The statement reads in part: “Notice is hereby given that, sequel to the just-concluded House of Representatives primary elections of the All Progressives Congress, the National Assembly Primary Appeal Committee for Imo State has been inaugurated and mandated to receive petitions/complaints arising from the House of Representatives primary elections held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Imo State.”
It added that the committee can be reached during sitting hours on GSM number 0703 205 4046.
This development comes shortly after reports that four incumbent House of Representatives members from Imo State lost their bids for return tickets in the primaries.
The appeal process is expected to address grievances and ensure fairness in the candidate selection for the 2027 general elections.
