Gov Otti Commissions 14 Newly Rehabilitated Roads in Aba

Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti has commissioned 14 newly completed and rehabilitated road projects across Osisioma, Aba North, and Aba South Local Government Areas as part of his administration’s aggressive urban renewal drive in the commercial city of Aba.

The commissioning, which took place recently, marks the first phase of 55 major projects (roads and others) scheduled for inauguration or groundbreaking in the coming weeks.

The roads are equipped with modern drainage systems and streetlights to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support economic activities in the bustling commercial hub.

Speaking during the event at St. Joseph’s College (CKC), Asa Triangle in Aba, Governor Otti described the projects as critical interventions aimed at transforming Aba’s infrastructure and restoring the city’s glory.

He noted that his administration has completed 414 roads spanning over 864 kilometres statewide in just three years.

Some of the commissioned roads include:

Aro Amano–Eke Aro Road (1.72 km)

Adaelu Road (Osisioma-Aba)

Geometric Road

Afule Road

Assemblies of God Church Road

Nwogu Ajagba Street

Nwala Street

Sacred Heart Street

Elizabeth Avenue

Nigerian Brewery Ring Road

Etche Road

Mosque Road

Crystal Park Road

Kingdom Hall Street

(and several others in the Asa Triangle and Eziukwu Road axis).

Residents expressed joy and appreciation, with some celebrating enthusiastically at the commissioning events.

Officials from the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) and the Ministry of Works were commended for delivering quality infrastructure.

The governor also flagged off the first phase of the Aba Ring Road project as part of broader efforts to ease congestion and boost commerce in the area.
