FG to Introduce Capital Grants for Students with Innovative Ideas

The Federal Government has announced plans to provide capital grants to students, in addition to the existing student loan scheme, to support those with innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills.

Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, made this known during the 70th anniversary celebration of Kaduna Polytechnic.

Dr. Suwaiba explained that the capital grant initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

She said the grants would offer financial support to students with viable business or innovation ideas, enabling them to develop their projects and contribute to national development.

The Minister praised Kaduna Polytechnic for its significant contributions to technical and vocational education over the past seven decades, describing the institution as a vital pillar in Nigeria’s human capital development.

She urged students to fully take advantage of various government initiatives designed to promote learning, creativity, and self-reliance.
