The lawmaker representing Surulere I in the Lagos State
House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, has officially announced his withdrawal from
the race.
He made this known in a video now making rounds on social
media, Wednesday.
Elliot said, “My name is Demond Elliot. In all zones, they
have been intimidating and stopping us. I want to officially announce my
withdrawal from this particular race. This is my ward, if you go outside, those
are my people outside, and they have not been allowed so I am officially
announcing my withdrawal from this race. Good luck, thank you.”
Desmond, who is representing Surulere I constituency in the
Lagos State House of Assembly, is seeking a re-election under the APC.

The allegations made by Desmond Elliot should be thoroughly investigated by the party leadership. A credible and transparent primary election process is essential for maintaining trust among party members and the wider public. Regardless of political affiliation, fairness and accountability should remain the foundation of any democratic process.
