Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sule won the party’s senatorial primary held on Tuesday, polling a total of 47,393 votes to overwhelmingly defeat his sole challenger, former Deputy Governor Silas Ali Agara, who scored 2,915 votes.
The Returning Officer, Musa Shuaibu Guri, declared the result in Akwanga, describing the exercise as peaceful, credible, and transparent.
He affirmed that Governor Sule satisfied all constitutional requirements and APC guidelines, and was duly returned as the party’s senatorial candidate for the district.
The landslide victory gives Sule a strong position as he eyes a seat in the Senate after his tenure as governor.
