Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary, alleging that the vote-counting process produced inflated results as part of a rigging strategy.
The APC primary, which produced President Bola Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election, was described by Ibe as an “abracadabra vote count.”
In a statement posted on X, Ibe praised the ongoing African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary for properly counting votes, contrasting it sharply with the APC process.
“The ADC leads in properly counting the votes at its ongoing nationwide presidential primaries when compared to the abracadabra vote count of the ruling APC, which produced inflated votes that are a dress rehearsal to seek for its rigging strategy,” Ibe said.
He added: “The difference is clear between the Democrats and the Communists.”The criticism comes shortly after Atiku condemned the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, and the killing of innocent citizens in Katsina State, including a pregnant woman.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku described the incidents as evidence of a collapse of leadership under the current administration.
He criticised President Tinubu’s response to such security crises as repetitive “press statements” and “empty threats” that have become meaningless to Nigerians.
