Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos.
The meeting took place as the ruling party continues its nationwide primaries for various positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
State Houses of Assembly primaries largely concluded on Tuesday, with governorship and presidential primaries scheduled for later this week.
Though details of the discussions were not made public, sources indicated that Yilwatda briefed the President on the smooth conduct of the primaries, which marked the party’s first major nationwide direct primaries exercise.
The APC National Chairman is expected to update the President on logistical arrangements, level of compliance, and early resolution mechanisms for any disputes arising from the primaries.
This meeting underscores ongoing coordination between the party leadership and the President as the APC positions itself for the 2027 polls.
Professor Yilwatda, who emerged as National Chairman earlier this year, has consistently expressed strong support for President Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
