Aliko Dangote Hosts Femi Otedola, First HoldCo Executives at Refinery

On Wednesday, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, welcomed Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, and senior executives from the group to the sprawling Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex in Lagos.

The high-profile visit underscores deepening ties between leading figures in Africa’s industrial and financial sectors.

According to a statement from the Dangote Group shared on its verified X account, the engagement went beyond a routine tour, highlighting a shared vision for the continent’s future.

“More than a visit, the engagement reflects the growing alignment between Africa’s industrial and financial leadership around a shared belief that the continent’s future must be built on production, infrastructure, energy security, and long-term investment in African capacity,” the group said.

The statement emphasized the leaders’ joint commitment to advancing industrialisation, boosting production capacity, and promoting regional self-sufficiency across Africa.

As one of the largest industrial projects on the continent, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals stands as a powerful symbol of what ambitious execution at scale can achieve.

The facility continues to draw significant interest from institutions and business leaders focused on strengthening industrial growth and reshaping Africa’s economic landscape from within.

Photos from the visit show Dangote addressing Otedola and the First HoldCo team, as well as group shots of the executives at the refinery site.

The meeting comes amid the refinery’s ongoing success in ramping up operations and contributing to Nigeria’s energy independence.
