Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Buba announced his decision in a formal letter shared on his Facebook page on Saturday, May 16, 2026. He stated that the withdrawal takes effect immediately.
In the statement addressed to the Kaduna State APC Chairman, Buba said the decision followed extensive consultations with his family, political associates, and party stakeholders.
He cited ongoing reconciliation efforts by party leaders aimed at fostering unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party,” he said.
“I believe that rallying behind a single candidate is important for our victory in the general election and the continued progress of our constituency and state.”
Buba expressed gratitude to Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani and the state APC leadership for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
He urged his supporters to remain calm and fully back whoever emerges as the party’s candidate, describing his withdrawal as a sacrifice for party unity.
He reaffirmed his commitment and loyalty to the APC, pledging to support the party’s success at the polls.
Buba had recently passed the APC screening for the seat, where his youthful appearance sparked widespread public discussion and reactions online.
His participation also drew attention due to allegations of age falsification, though no official charges or sanctions were issued by the party.
