The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has explained that it formed a strategic alliance due to the approaching 2027 general elections and uncertainty surrounding the party’s legal status.
National Chairman of the party, Yusuf Dantalle, disclosed this during a Saturday interview on Arise Television.
Dantalle said the party leadership, alongside Governors Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, realised that time was running out, making the alliance necessary to strengthen the party.
“We needed resources to grow the party, but we will not be tied to any godfather,” he emphasised.
He described the APM as an egalitarian party that operates cleanly and without rancour, stressing that every voice in the party matters.
“That agreement was reached, they were welcomed into the party, and by the grace of God, they are free and clear to contest,” Dantalle added.
The APM chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to working strictly within the law while building a strong political platform ahead of the 2027 polls.
