Former President Goodluck Jonathan failed to appear for the submission of his nomination form as announced by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
A faction of the PDP, reportedly backed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, had scheduled screening for Jonathan as the party’s presidential aspirant on Tuesday.
He was expected to submit his nomination form on Monday but did not show up.
PDP chieftain Lere Olayinka, a member of the rival faction, disclosed the development on his Facebook page.
According to him, the Turaki-led PDP waited from morning till 4pm without Jonathan’s arrival, leading to the indefinite postponement of the submission exercise.
The absence has sparked fresh drama within the PDP as different factions continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 polls. Jonathan is yet to make any official statement on his political plans.
