Security forces operating under Operation Savannah Shield have successfully repelled a suspected terrorist attack on Patrol Base Gada in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to security sources, the incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, when armed men launched an assault on the military patrol base.
Troops responded swiftly and engaged the attackers in a brief gunfight, forcing them to retreat in disarray.
No casualties were reported among the security personnel.In the aftermath of the attack, soldiers recovered four AK-47 magazines, 15 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a power bank, three pairs of shoes, and a waist belt abandoned by the fleeing assailants.
Authorities confirmed that the situation is now fully under control, with enhanced security presence maintained in the area to reassure residents and prevent any follow-up attacks.
Operations under Operation Savannah Shield are continuing in the region, with intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and bolster security across vulnerable communities in the axis.
