The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released archival footage from July 2025 showing Nafiu Bala in attendance at the unveiling of Senator David Mark as the party’s interim national chairman.
The video, recorded at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, shows Bala seated among key stakeholders, including Senator Ishaku Abbo, with representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also present at the event.
This development comes amid the ongoing leadership crisis in the ADC. Nafiu Bala, who previously served as Deputy National Chairman (North-East), is currently laying claim to the position of national chairman.
An alleged resignation letter attributed to him, dated May 18, 2025, had earlier surfaced online, in which he reportedly resigned to facilitate a smooth coalition and restructuring within the party.
The footage, shared by ADC Vanguard, carries the caption: “ADC releases video where Nafiu Bala was sighted at David Mark leadership unveiling after he tendered his resignation. The INEC representatives were also present at the event.”
The release of the video has generated significant reactions on social media, particularly following INEC’s recent decision to delist both David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola in compliance with a court order aimed at restoring the party’s pre-July 2025 leadership status quo.
