Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, describing the youth-led City Boy Movement as a symbol of Nigeria’s structured future.
Okpebholo made the remarks on Thursday while receiving members of the City Boy Movement on a courtesy visit at the Edo State Government House, Benin City.
Commending the group’s organization and vision, the governor said, “Only a city boy can truly build and brand a city. What I see is clear a movement that is coordinated, organised, and driven by leadership. That alone gives me confidence that Nigeria’s future is in safe hands.”
He stressed the role of young people in national development, noting that “our youths are not just the future, they are the drivers of today’s transformation. We must empower them, organize them, and give them the platform to lead.”
Okpebholo declared Edo State’s endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term, pledging continued support for the Renewed Hope agenda.
“For us in Edo, the decision is clear, we have already endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term. Together, we will continue to support the Renewed Hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and build a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria,” he said.
He added: “The future is structured. The future is youth. The future is now.”
