Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ASI Engineering Limited to drive power sector reforms and expand infrastructure in the state.
The governor signed the agreement during high-level engagements at the Kaduna Electric Franchise Energy Summit in London, as part of efforts to achieve sustainable power supply and economic growth.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, Kaduna State will invest ₦15 billion to acquire a 5.54 per cent equity stake in the company, which translates to an indirect 4.13 per cent stake in Kaduna Electric.
The statement described the move as a strategic step aligned with Governor Sani’s broader agenda of industrialisation, investment attraction, and shared prosperity, with reliable energy as a key enabler.
“Governor Uba Sani’s participation reflects Kaduna State’s commitment to strategic partnerships and regional collaboration to expand energy access and accelerate development,” the statement said.
At the summit, Governor Sani joined his counterparts from Zamfara and Kebbi States to promote regional cooperation and engage investors on scalable energy solutions.
“This investment is a deliberate step to secure Kaduna’s energy future, power industrial growth, and improve livelihoods,” the statement added.
