Israeli Airstrikes Kill Top Iranian Intelligence Chief Amid Escalating Conflict

Israeli airstrikes on Monday eliminated Majid Khademi, the intelligence chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Iranian state media and Israeli officials.

Iranian state media reported Khademi’s death on Monday but provided few additional details about the strike. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the targeting and took responsibility for the operation.

“The Revolutionary Guards are shooting at civilians and we are eliminating the leaders of the terrorists,” Katz stated. “Iran’s leaders live with a sense of being targeted. We will continue to hunt them down one by one.”

Khademi was among at least 25 people killed in a coordinated wave of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes across Iran on Monday.

In response, Iran launched drones and missiles toward targets in the Gulf region and Israel, with reports confirming at least two deaths in Haifa, Israel, from strikes late Sunday.

This latest killing adds to a growing list of senior Iranian security figures eliminated since the conflict intensified. Previous casualties include security chief Ali Larijani and IRGC commander-in-chief Mohammad Pakpour.

The strikes reflect Israel’s stated strategy of systematically targeting Iranian leadership and military infrastructure in response to ongoing attacks. Tensions remain high as both sides continue operations in the widening regional conflict.
