The Katsina State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the mob killing of a man identified as KC Joe in Kokami village, Danja Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred on Thursday, April 2, 2026, following a violent dispute between the deceased and one Ibrahim Auwal.
According to police reports, KC Joe allegedly stabbed Auwal to death during the altercation, which triggered an angry mob to attack and kill him in retaliation.
In a statement issued on Sunday, April 5, 2026, and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, the command confirmed that operatives were swiftly deployed to the scene upon receiving the report.
They restored calm in the area and ensured the safety of the deceased’s family members.
The four suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine their roles in the mob action.
The Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar, strongly condemned the incident and warned residents against taking the law into their own hands.
He urged the public to always report disputes to the nearest police station and allow law enforcement agencies to handle such matters.
The command assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted and that those found culpable would face the full wrath of the law.
