Hon. Lawan Kolo Geidam, Mandate Secretary of the Youth and Sports Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has resigned to contest the 2027 Yobe State governorship election.

Geidam, who has served in the FCTA role focused on youth development and sports, is widely viewed as a strong contender for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in Yobe State.
He has previously received endorsements from various youth groups across the state for his grassroots engagement and public service record. His move adds to the increasing number of federal appointees exiting office to pursue gubernatorial ambitions ahead of the 2027 polls.
No successor has been announced for his position in the FCTA.
