Former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter dated April 10, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman in Ward 7, Ondo West Local Government Area, Mimiko formally announced his exit from the party.
“I am tendering my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, effective from April 10, 2026,” the letter reads.
He emphasised that the decision was for strictly personal reasons and stated that it was taken without any ill will toward any individual or group within the party.
Mimiko, who previously served as governor from 2009 to 2017, had rejoined the PDP in recent years after earlier stints with the party and the Labour Party.
His resignation comes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
