Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar made a surprise appearance at the white wedding reception of his godson, popular Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star Cross Okonkwo (Ikechukwu Sunday Cross Okonkwo, popularly known as Cross Da Boss), and his bride, Chinonso Patricia Okonkwo, shortly after returning from the National Opposition Summit in Ibadan.
In a statement posted on his verified X account on Sunday, Atiku highlighted the strong familial bond between the two families and extended warm wishes to the newlyweds.
"Yesterday, upon my arrival from Ibadan after the National Opposition Summit, I proceeded directly to the wedding of my godson, Cross Okonkwo @crossdabossike, and Chinonso Okonkwo, here in Abuja. The occasion provided yet another opportunity to reflect the strong bond between our families. I wish the couple a very happy and fulfilling married life," he wrote.
Cross Okonkwo, a two-time BBNaija finalist (Shine Ya Eye and All Stars seasons) and well-known reality TV personality, entrepreneur, and content creator, tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Abuja on April 25, 2026.
The event attracted several former BBNaija housemates including Mercy Eke, Erica, Liquorose, and Neo, among other celebrities and notable guests. Atiku’s presence at the reception, where he was seen interacting warmly with the couple and guests, added a significant highlight to the celebrations and underscored the personal relationship he shares with the Okonkwo family.
