Troops of the Joint Task Force (North-East) Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the deadly attack that claimed the life of a Brigadier-General in Borno State.
The suspect, identified only as Tijjani, was apprehended on Sunday while he was reportedly heading out to buy food for other members of his group.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the military to track down those responsible for the recent ambush that killed the senior officer.
Details of the suspect’s exact role in the attack are still being investigated.
The incident highlights the continued security challenges in the region despite sustained military operations against insurgents.
