Security operatives have arrested a suspected bandit known
online as Sule Yellow, who became popular on TikTok for allegedly showing off
kidnapping activities and ransom money during livestreams.
Sule Yellow drew public attention after appearing in a
TikTok livestream that went viral on March 4.
In the video, he appeared with another suspected bandit
called Auta and other members of their gang. The group allegedly talked about
their activities and boasted about kidnapping people.
In a video currently circulating on X, Sule Yellow can be
seen in handcuffs and surrounded by soldiers while they question him about
weapons said to belong to his group.
The footage also shows security officers displaying a
polythene bag believed to contain ransom money that was allegedly recovered
from a recent kidnapping linked to the gang.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement
explaining the exact details of his arrest.
His arrest follows ongoing military operations aimed at
tracking down bandit groups that have been attacking communities and carrying
out kidnappings for ransom.
On Monday, the police command in Ondo arrested four
logistics suppliers to kidnappers.
The Ondo police spokesperson said the arrested kidnappers’
logistic suppliers have made “useful confessional statements that are currently
aiding ongoing investigations”.
