A tragic road accident has marred the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zonal Congress in Katsina State, claiming the life of one delegate and leaving several others injured.
The victims, who were delegates from Sabuwa Local Government Area, were on their way to the event venue when the accident occurred.
Among the injured is Hon. Sirajo Umar Damari, the former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, and the APC Chairman of Sabuwa Local Government.
The deceased has been identified as Dalhat Machika.
The victims are currently receiving medical treatment at Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's office has released a statement confirming the incident and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
